Following its inaugural success, Hakim Group is set to host its second annual SPA (Share, Progress, Achieve) CPD event at The Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry on 29 September.

This eagerly awaited full-day programme is once again meticulously crafted to offer optometrists and dispensing opticians the unique opportunity to secure all their CPD points within a single, transformative day.

In alignment with Hakim Group's ongoing commitment to innovation and collaboration, this year’s event promises an array of dynamic workshops, practical applications for everyday practice, and enlightening discussions.

Over 500 delegates are expected, and participants will be deeply immersed in the latest advancements in optometry, reinforcing Hakim Group's dedication to equipping independent eye care professionals with the necessary tools to excel in their practices, provide superior patient care, and elevate the optical industry as a whole.

Sessions throughout the day will cover topics such as contact lenses, dry eye, multimodal imaging, glaucoma, and hearing care, alongside an array of other insightful sessions delving into key areas of the industry.

The speaker line-up for this year’s event remains a testament to the wealth of knowledge within the Hakim Group family of independent practices. Esteemed professionals such as Helen Tilley, Dr Keyur Patel, Alan Hawrami, Polly Dulley, Adrian Street and Marc Drake will share their expertise across various optometry specialties.

External experts headlining the event include renowned Dutch biologist, Dr Patrick Van Veen, who will be co-hosting with Dr Byki Huntjens, as well as Dr Samantha Strong, Rupal Lovell-Patel, and Dr Alicia Thompson.

Claire Slade, head of professional advancement and governance at Hakim Group, said: “SPA CPD is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the continuous professional development of optometry practitioners and the optical sector at large, delivered in a way that reflects the unique Hakim Group culture.
