Myopia was the focus for the day of a continuing professional development event on 12 May.

MAYopia Day returned for 2024, hosted by OT in partnership with the AOP and CooperVision as headline sponsor.

The day-long event featured seven live webinars exploring key topics supporting the management of myopia in practice, with more than 2800 attendees across the seven sessions combined.

Speakers shared insight on topics ranging from evidence-based myopia management for communication, to assessing efficacy of interventions, ortho-k fitting success, to putting myopia management into practice.

Dr Ian Beasley, AOP head of education and OT clinical editor, commented: “MAYopia Day has become a firm favourite in the AOP’s events calendar with members coming together to consolidate their knowledge across a range of core themes in the subject area.”

“It was a privilege to host a world-class programme with expert speakers from the UK and the US sharing insights from both research and clinical settings,” he added.

Sessions throughout the day of education were supported by sponsors: CooperVision, Essilor, Topcon, Johnson & Johnson, Specsavers, Bausch + Lomb, and Hoya.

Recordings from MAYopia Day are available to re-watch on OT’s Education Library.
