The third annual Surrey Opticians Optical Fair was held at Wallington Town Hall on Saturday (11 May).

Surrey Opticians retail manager, Fethi Mahmoud, described the free event as a “resounding success.”

“We were particularly honoured to welcome Mr Saj Khan, a leading ophthalmology consultant, who generously gave his time to meet with some of our patients,” he said.

“Mr Khan provided invaluable advice on common eye conditions such as dry eye, cataracts, and macular degeneration,” Mahmoud said.

Free styling consultations were provided during the fair, with the support of companies such as Ted Baker Eyewear, Marchon Eyewear and White Optics.

“The free styling consultations allowed attendees to explore the latest trends in eyewear and receive personalised recommendations based on their face shape, skin tone, and personal style,” Mahmoud shared.

Equipment demonstrations were also on offer at the fair, with attendees learning about the features of Essilor’s Activa eye heat mask – a device that provides therapeutic relief for tired and dry eyes.

Now in its third year, Mahmoud shared that the Surrey Opticians Optical Fair has grown in scale and impact each year.

“The decision to establish the fair was made with the intention of creating a platform where the local community could access valuable information, products, and services related to eye health,” he explained.

“The fair aims to raise awareness, promote preventive measures, and provide support to individuals in need,” Mahmoud added.
