Boots has re-opened its refurbished St Albans premises, which features a reinvented healthcare area and Boots Opticians practice.

The Mayor of St Albans, Councillor Geoff Harrison, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially re-open the refurbished St Albans site.

The first floor of the building has become a dedicated healthcare area, with Boots Opticians, Boots Hearingcare and the pharmacy.

Boots explained that the St Albans site is one of its first stores to feature a new open and state-of-the-art healthcare space, which has been designed to make it easier for customers to access healthcare advice and products.

The newly-refurbished Boots Opticians provides NHS and private eye tests, contact lens aftercare and free contact lens fitting and trials, as well as optical coherence tomography scans. The practice also offers a range of designer brands including Tom Ford, Saint Laurent and Gucci, as well as own-brand and sustainable ranges.

In addition, the first floor hosts a selection of healthcare products and provides pharmacy services, and also features a Boots World of Hearing concept store. The immersive experience is the third Boots World of Hearing concept to open in the UK, and the first inside of a Boots store.

The refurbished store also features a new beauty hall with premium beauty brands.

Drew Beames, area manager at Boots, commented: “We are delighted to finally unveil our newest refurbished store to our local St Albans community. The store is full of exciting beauty brands, expert healthcare advice and services, as well as state-of-the-art Boots Opticians and Boots Hearingcare facilities. We can’t wait to welcome the people of St Albans to experience the very best that this store has to offer.”
