Festive fundraising by Edmonds & Slatter Opticians

The independent optical group has raised funds for Menphys

Edmonds and Slatter team

Staff across Edmonds & Slatter Opticians practices have raised over £700 for Menphys, a local charity that provides services for children and young adults up to the age of 25 who have additional needs and disabilities.

During the festive period, employees across all five Leicestershire practices in the group got involved with the fundraising efforts. The team took part in Christmas jumper days, and hosted raffles that coincided with local Christmas light switch on events. In total they raised £723.03.

Speaking about the fundraising, charity co-ordinator at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, Amy Coleburne, said: “Menphys were very pleased to let us know that the money from our winter fundraising would provide a place for a child at one of their Saturday clubs for a year, or alternatively fund three children for a year at one of their after-school clubs.”

“We are now thinking ahead to how our 2023 support can progress,” she added.
