Marcolin has appointed Andrea Vincenzo Virgilio as its new group operations director.

Virgilio began his new role on 15 July, taking over responsibility for the group’s manufacturing facilities, research and development, product compliance, and supply chain departments.

He will report into Marcolin’s chief executive and general manager, Fabrizio Curci.

Virgilio has an extensive operations background, and has worked in production, industrialisation, quality, and lean manufacturing, for companies including Benetton, Lavazza Group and Luxottica.

He is a graduate of the University of Palermo, where he studied electronic engineering.

Based in Veneto, Italy, Marcolin distributes its eyewear products in more than 125 countries.
