Pala launches optical collection

Sales from the new sustainable collection will contribute towards the establishment of a new vision centre in Sierra Leone, in partnership with Vision Action

Pala Eyewear has expanded its range in 2023 with the launch of a new optical collection.

The spectacle collection includes 24 new frames in five bio-acetate designs: ‘Moyo,’ ‘Kunzunda,’ ‘Timamu,’ ‘Anansa,’ and ‘Ayo.’

The new collection has been designed to complement Pala’s existing sunglasses line, and is available with blue light or prescription lenses.

The B Corp-certified brand, which creates bio-acetate frames in small batch production, uses revenue from sales of its eyewear to fund eye care projects across Africa.

John Pritchard, Pala’s founder, said: “Life would be radically different for many of us, me included, without access to eye tests and eyewear, but that’s the shocking reality for millions of people around the world.”

“Our new optical collection brings an exciting new sustainable, ethical, and quality offering for customers, whilst also delivering positive impact by restoring vision and transforming lives,” he added.

Pala has set a new goal to finance the build and equipping of a new vision centre in Sierra Leone, in partnership with Vision Action.

Since 2016, Pala has generated more than £47,000 for eye care projects in Africa, helping more than 26,000 people to receive access to eye care or corrective surgery, and enabled the delivery of 45,000 vitamins to help prevent blindness in children.
