Safilo acquires US e-commerce company
The eyewear company has acquired a 70% stake in Blenders Eyewear

Safilo Group has acquired a 70% stake in equity of the California-based e-commerce company Blenders Eyewear.
Blenders Eyewear generates 95% of its business through its direct-to-consumer website, which is complemented by its flagship store in San Diego.
In 2019, Blenders Eyewear anticipates that net sales will reach $42m (£31.8m), which is all generated in the US and has increased by 40% compared to 2018.
Chief executive officer of Safilo, Angelo Trocchia, said: “With Blenders Eyewear, we aim to foster and accelerate our e-commerce and omni-channel strategy, leveraging on the digital DNA and proven capabilities of the brand and putting Safilo’s global capabilities at its disposal to enable global expansion of the brand.”
