Essilor Ltd has relocated its Optical Academy to the Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ (ABDO) National Resource Centre in Birmingham.
The lens supplier has moved its academy sessions from Paris to make its course more accessible to UK practitioners. The academy in Paris is still in operation.
Essilor Ltd hosted a two-day CET event at the Birmingham centre on 14–15 November with guest speakers including Professor Mo Jalie from the University of Ulster and health psychologist, Dr Fiona Fylan, who spoke about the psychology behind eyewear for drivers.
Marketing manager at Essilor Ltd, Jason Williams, said: “It was a very well attended event and we’re pleased that the decision to move the Optical Academy closer to home has made it more convenient to our independent business partners here in the UK because we know how much they value on-going learning to remain competitive.”
