Menicon welcomes new professional services manager

Piyus Tanna has joined Menicon and Josie Barlow takes on the role of head of customer support

Menicon Limited has appointed Piyus Tanna as its new professional services manager, while Josie Barlow also steps into a new leadership role.

Tanna moves from his previous role as a personal development tutor and optometrist at Vision Express.

He also holds leadership positions as chair of Northamptonshire Local Optical Committee, is a registrant reviewer for the General Optical Council, and continuing professional development (CPD) author.

Wellbeing has featured heavily in Tanna’s work, as he has collaborated in more than 60 wellbeing CPD events, organised the first Optometry Wellbeing Day this year, and founded Optometry Wellness, which provides CPD courses and coaching.

Tanna was named Optometrist of the Year at the 2024 Eyecare Awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Tanna said: “I am excited and grateful to be joining an innovating company that genuinely wants to make a difference in the world.”

Josie Barlow, who had been leading the professional services team, moves into the role of head of customer support within Menicon Limited.

Welcoming Tanna to the company, Barlow said: “His passion for eye care and commitment to professional development make him a valuable asset to our organisation, and I look forward to working closely with him in his new role.”
