It's time to slip into something more comfortable..Variety may indeed be the spice of life, but has this diversity come at a cost? Changing activities and challenging environments place more demands on the eye than ever before. It's a delicate balance of work and home, hobbies and responsibilities, practicality and comfort. Is there also something else we can consider?

Tear inspired design

The tear film is a truly amazing, delicate complex fluid which is so much more than water. It is known to comprise of many different components,1 each element working positively to protect ocular health, comfort and vision. The very act of applying a contact lens will split the delicate tear film into two thinner layers; a pre and post lens tear film. We are suddenly asking this highly complex, specialised fluid to continue to function as normal, whilst supporting a foreign object that is at least 15 times thicker than the original tear film itself!2

ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day with HydraLuxeTM technology works with the tear film for maximised comfort and exceptional vision. Inspired by the tear film, the integration of long chain Polyvinyl Pyrollidone (PVP) ensures hydration and lubrication properties similar to that of the natural tear mucins, as well as attracting and holding onto water and working with lipids. The attraction and then maintenance of moisture within the matrix of ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day with HydraLuxe™ technology means this material strives to work with the tear film, keeping it stable, therefore providing both excellent comfort and vision.4

Time waits for no one – so keep up

Advances in technology surround us, as does the desire to keep up with the times. An eagerness to upgrade, such as with each new mobile phone, has become the norm. There's something undeniably exciting about discovering new features, appreciating the improvements they bring and seeing what your upgrade can do. With contact lenses, it's less about physically seeing those changes, and more about how that upgrade can feel. Moving with the times in the world of contact lenses is about 'feeling' the improvements that the advances in technology bring. In a world where an upgrading is the norm, there's an added comfort in knowing that these contact lens upgrades promote eye health advantages too. Alongside a material which supports tear film stability, ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day adds a touch of luxury too. Imagine the feeling of slipping into the comfort of the best Egyptian cotton sheets, the ultimate smoothness from the highest thread count, and then, relax...

Consider how the same concept applied to a contact lens could influence comfort. ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day utilises increased cross linking to maximise smoothness of the lens surface, providing that exceptional experience for the eye. It is widely accepted that the way a contact lens material interacts with the tear film can promote or disrupt vision quality, so this is not luxury at a cost; the smoother surface promotes great vision too. In fact, patients wearing ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day have reported being more satisfied with their vision when wearing these lenses.4,5

Real life vision simply is not just about the smallest letters on the acuity chart. ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day gave superior vision when considering the 'real world' outside of the consulting room, improving both the high contrast and lower contrast acuities.4 Luxury with added benefits!

Best of both worlds

Taking inspiration from the tear film itself, ACUVUE® OASYS 1-Day provides the clinician with an option for great comfort and great vision proving that compromise is not always necessary. Available in a large set of parameters and covering astigmatic prescriptions, sometimes, it is possible to truly have it all.
