Optometry Today (OT), in partnership with Moorfields Private Eye Hospital and the AOP, are pleased to provide this 60-minute webinar.

The first part of the session will consider recent advances in cataract surgery regarding machine settings and techniques that improve patient outcomes. The second part will present the newest developments in intraocular lens technology, outlining the process of patient selection and the optimisation of intraocular lens choice to address individual needs.

Learning outcomes

  • Practitioners will be able to advise patients about the latest developments in cataract surgery and intraocular lens technology relative to their scope of practice
  • Practitioners will recognise advances in cataract surgery and intraocular lens technology and how these relate to improved patient outcomes.

George VoyatzisGeorge is a skilled specialist in cataract surgery, dedicated to improving the vision and quality of life of his patients.

He graduated from Athens Medical School with a first-class honours degree.

After completing his military service with the Greek Air Force, he undertook his ophthalmic surgical training in London and Cambridge. After completing his residency, he trained for two further years at Addenbrooke’s Hospital honing his skills in complex cataract and corneal surgery.

In 2014 he accepted the post of consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Peterborough & Stamford NHS Foundation Trust where he was the clinical lead for the cataract service and received an excellence award for the service’s transformation.

In 2018 he joined the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is actively involved in clinical research and is dedicated to training the new generation of cataract surgeons.
